What did you use for the bright white areas? White pencil? I like the blue undretones to this, and the subtle nature added to the portrait like dewdrops for jewels was a nice touch. Really great proportions, shading, blah blah blah. I will say your eyes and lips lack the life your hair and nature has, they seem duller in contrast and don't really grab my eye. Maybe more contrast and attention to minor details would fix that up. it's still amazing though

Good work! Amazine rendering. Could you do a regular scan ( or a light one)and then a really dark scan and combine them in PS - put the dark one on a layer above the light one and erase out all the too dark parts leaving just the light areas? Not sure what issues you're having with your scanner so maybe that won't work...
